DIY Polka Dot Water Bottle

At the beginning of the year, I made a goal to drink a gallon of water each day. I haven't been doing so hot on that because, let's be honest, coke zero tastes so much better than water. In an attempt to get myself a bit more psyched up about chugging water all day, I decided to spiff up my water bottle a bit!

Here's what I started with:

And here are my supplies:
-Americana gloss enamel paints in silver and turquoise
-3/4 inch round sponge brush

I began stamping on dots of paint in a straight row down the side of my water bottle, off-setting the dots when I moved on to the next row and kept going until I covered the whole thing. And that's it! I thought I wouldn't like the spongy/bubbly texture my brush would give the dots, but I actually love it! It makes the silver look sparkly and adds some fun texture. If you wanted your dots to be smoother, you could try making dot stencils out of adhesive paper and brushing the paint on.

Three cheers for polka dots and staying hydrated!
